Addictive Behaviour are a relatively new D&B label in the grand scheme of things but with over 20 years experience working in the D&B scene. So whilst our labels output is fresh and cutting edge we also have a deep knowledge of the genres history. So expect some high energy sets with a full spectrum of the best D&B. We draw on our early influences alongside the labels fresh output to bring a unique concoction of upfront future tech & rolling D&B beautifully blended with nostalgia evoking classics.
Matthew Batchelor (Modu) is a Bristol based Drum and Bass producer and DJ. After working his way through the scene over the past 7 years, building up a back catalogue of singles, remixes and EP releases on respected labels such as Inside Records, Horizons X, Soul Deep Recordings, Inform Records, Velcro City Records, Subsphere Records, Pristine Records, Jazzfunk, Alchemic Breakz, Artist Recordings, Liquid Tones and Scientia. 2015 saw the release of matt’s first vinyl release, a collaboration track with Xanadu released on his debut LP on Dom & Roland Productions.
During his time at Exeter University Matt held a number of resident and headline DJ slots at Beats and Bass Thick as Thieves nights as well as their festival HiJacked and GetMe nights. He has also now been signed onto the Inform Artists DJ booking agency and has played across the UK in cities including London, Exeter, Leeds and Bristol. With ever growing support from drum and bass scene from the likes of Kasra, Fourward, Liquicity, LTJ Bukem, Xanadu, Mota, Fred V & Grafix, BBC radio 1xtra, Scenic & Advisory and Scott Allen. Modu is setting the stage for a bigger and better future.
Addictive Behaviour co-founder Saunders has been curating music for the flourishing label for the past six years alongside partner Clayton Baker. In the short time since the label’s inception Addictive have played host to a number of solid releases from prominent artists across the drum & bass scene as well as playing a pivotal role in nurturing emerging talents into the limelight. Some of their most recent & forthcoming signings have been hotly tipped by UKF as ‘Ones to watch’ and received rave reviews from the likes of DJ Mag and Mixmag.
In addition to developing the record label Saunders has played an important role in Addictive Behaviour’s events arm which has hosted nights in various London venues including the legendary Fabric club as well as parties across the UK and internationally too. Being a self-proclaimed D&B addict since the late 90’s, Saunders draws on his early influences alongside the labels fresh output to bring a unique concoction of upfront future tech & rolling D&B beautifully blended with nostalgia evoking classics.
