Like his productions, Aroop’s DJ sets are always a performance full of personality and style. His position as a global tastemaker is clear with guest mixes for Gilles Peterson’s legendary Worldwide programme, deep house pioneers Freerange Records and broken beat scene leaders CO-OP amongst many others. In 2018, Aroop launched his label Vive La Musique with an official reissue and reworks of a rare 80s Zouk tune. The Tabala Mouv 12″ became one of the fastest selling records of the year and was been featured by major tastemakers across the scene including BBC Radio 1, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Rush Hour and Phonica, topping Juno Record’s monthly chart after only 2 weeks. The 2019 follow-up Sammy Massamba’s ‘Azali’ had similar support with Aroop’s edit scoring 10/10 in Mixmag and earning ‘Tune of the Month’.
