Jasper Zest

He describes his love affair with mixing as having begun half-way up a university block in the Midlands, almost a decade ago. After months of honing his skills cutting together old drum & bass and jungle 12” on friends’ decks, he began to ply his trade locally; supporting big acts at student union events, playing basement sub parties… even atop a double-decker bus.

Now refining his sound back home in the South East, Zest hosts soul and disco events in his hometown of Canterbury, often lining up for Labrat Records, Countryclub and Native Productions as well as featuring at popular City Sound Project and Lounge on the Farm festivals.

Sets cruise through soulful re-edits, chunky disco and slabs of spacey, electro boogie before the sound cascades down into more writhing torrents of stomping house and shuffling break-beats.
With frequent nods to soul, funk and hip-hop, the track lists remain eclectic, innovative and fresh, as the name would suggest.
